How was your Thanksgiving? Filled with yummy food and family (I hope!)? It's my favorite holiday of the year because we get together with our loved ones to connect and eat -- nothing better than filling our hearts and tummies!
This year was a new experience for me. Antonio and I celebrated our 1 year anniversary (can't believe it's already been a year!) and decided to travel to the Grand Canyon and Vegas. We like to have adventure and luxury so it was the perfect blend.
With work schedules, it meant traveling on Thanksgiving Day and the first time I wasn't going to be sitting at a table, traditionally, with family/friends.

We spent the day on a flight and then a 3 hour drive up the mountain to a quiet AirBNB. When we arrived, it was pitch black outside and the stars were so close, it was like you could touch them. The Milky Way was even showing off its glory in full force, twinkling in the night sky.
Our hosts for the night were so gracious and shared their Thanksgiving dinner with us. As I sat there eating in a strange person's home (literally) - I realized I never could have imagined my life in that moment. There was absolutely nothing that would have made me think that I would be in a country home, in the mountains, under a dragon chandelier (don't worry, the hosts were a super sweet old couple with interesting decorative taste!), with my most important loved one.
Was this how I would have planned it? ...no. And yet, it was just right. And a reflection that life isn't what we plan and usually isn't even what we expect...but it's perfect, exactly as we need it. In a Divine plan that works seamlessly to always bring us what's best.
I read a beautiful post by Mayan Tran that captures the essence of this...so I'm sharing her reflections, with you, here: What I'm Most Thankful For
Mayan's story of her father's unexpected passing and what she was able to share with him, touched me deeply. I hope her story moves you to reach out to someone you love. Even if Thanksgiving has passed, it's always the perfect time to connect and share our love to those who matter most.
And seriously, who doesn't love being told they're loved? :)
On that note, beautiful, I love you for being you. Beautiful and imperfectly perfect. I'm so grateful for your love and support and taking the time to read my musings. I stay on this journey knowing you're right there walking with me.
Hugs,
Shazia
