I’m Doing IT! Yes, exactly what you were thinking - I'm going skydiving!
Of course you have to wonder, who in their right mind would want to jump out of a tiny plane, 13,500 feet up high in the sky? Why bother doing something so scary (and dangerous?!), when standing on the ground is pretty nice, especially if there is an ice cream cone in hand.
To be honest, the scariest thing for me to have done, way more than skydiving...was putting myself out there as The Life Engineer. It was much easier for me to think about it when it was just a "dream." Actually doing it and stepping outside of my comfort zone to put myself out there was downright terrifying.

Your mind, and negative self-talk, can play all sorts of tricks on you to keep you where you are. Negative questions like to sneak into your head, in the shadows of new ideas. You start spending time thinking, many times obsessing, about them instead of your dreams. You ask, what will people think of me and say? What if I do everything wrong and even worse, what if I fail? Why waste my time, I should just be fine with the way things are - yeah, forget that dream, what was I thinking of anyways?
For me, this was my year to Just Do It (thanks Nike). To take that leap of faith even when I had little idea (um, make that no idea) what was on the other side. It was a blend of physical execution and spiritual trust which is why I guess it’s called a Leap of Faith.
Why take this leap of faith? Well, I decided, I never wanted to look back at my life and only wish I had tried. A hospice nurse recorded the regrets of the dying of over 1000 people in the course of 12 years. The most common regret was:
I wish I'd had the courage to live a life true to myself, not the life others expected of me.
Wow. What would your life look like if you lived it true to yourself?
This much is true, after taking this leap, I’m still alive and breathing. Whew! AND I’m so grateful for doing it. Is it easy-peasy? Absolutely not. Do I have moments of inspiration and yet many of doubt? Yes! And yet, I feel like I’m following what I’m meant to do and I’m taking itOne.

I know the path will continue to unfold as I walk it and I have to trust that. Whatever my journey is, I want to see what’s possible when I walk as my best self.
Now it’s your turn to take the first step. What’s that leap of faith that you’ve been wanting to take? Reply to this email and let me know!
